Local stops to say hi to Phil and look at the Mural

Friday, May 10, 2013

Welcome to The Living Mural blog.

The Living Mural is a detailed painting, which highlights Historic Route 66 and San Bernardino County, California.  The painting covers the North side of the original McDonalds Museum in San Bernardino on Historic Route 66 (1398 N. E St. San Bernardino, California).

The mural is the creation of Phil Yeh, Artist and founder of “Cartoonists Across America and the World” (an organization that advocates and promotes literacy).  Phil has a vision for this wonderful historic part of San Bernardino which includes an art colony and a place for tourist and commuters to stop and converse. Frequently, Phil can be found, alongside other painters, hard at work on the mural.

Since we started work on the mural, we’ve met people from all over the world: Brazil, Austria, Canada, Great Britain, Scotland – to name just a few.  All this interest in San Bernardino, Route 66 and the mural inspired us to create this blog as a way to connect with our international friends and chart the progress of The Living Mural.  So, we will be posting videos and pictures of the mural’s progress.  If you have pictures of your own, we encourage you to post them to The Living Mural’s Facebook page.
